Over
the past couple of decades JOHNNY MANS has beeen one
of the busiest promoters in the UK having toured a
string of star named artistes from the world of
Light Entertainment. Top Stars such as THE SHADOWS,
LARRY GRAYSON, FREDDIE STARR, MICHAEL BARRYMORE,
BARBARA DICKSON, CILLA BLACK, DANNY LA RUE, RONNIE
CORBETT, ROLF HARRIS, LENNY HENRY, FRANKIE HOWERD,
LENA ZAVARONI, ANTHONY NEWLEY, JON PERTWEE, BRUCE
FORSYTH, NORMAN WISDOM, ANNE SHELTON, RICK WAKEMAN,
LONIE DONEGAN, MAX BYGRAVES, ROSE-MARIE, TOMMY
COOPER, DICKIE HENDERSON, DES O'CONNOR, LES DAWSON
and BOB MONKHOUSE have all worked for Johnny over
the years.

Being a Producer as well as a Promoter/Agent &
Manager, Johnny Mans has secured a niche in the
world of entertainment, second to none. He has not
only worked and toured with many of the star names,
but has also become a personal friend of many of
them. As Lonnie Donegan once said to him, shortly
before Lonnie died..."You're the Last Variety
Agent!!", which he probably is. However, in changing
times Johnny is now concentrating on other areas of
the business, but he still thinks there's a little
slot for good-old- -fashioned variety. There's still
an audience out there willing to spend a few pennies
to see a really good show.

In recent years there have been a host of other top
star names involved with him. Names such as DORA
BRYAN, JESS CONRAD, JEREMY SPAKE, SYD LITTLE & EDDIE
LARGE, JIMMY TARBUCK, PAUL DANIELS, DEBBIE McGEE,
THE BARRON KNIGHTS, VAL DOONICAN, VINCE POWELL,
ERNEST MAXIN, FRANK BRUNO, BERNIE CLIFTON, JIM
DAVIDSON, WENDY RICHARD, CHAS'N'DAVE, FRANK CARSON,
SUE NICHOLLS, KEN DODD, ISLA ST.CLAIR, DAVE PROWSE,
KENNY BAKER, JOAN REGAN, VINCE HILL, KEITH HARRIS,
BERT WEEDON, JIM MARSHALL, BOBBY CRUSH, THE
BACHELORS, DANNY WILLIAMS, LINDA NOLAN, SUSAN
MAUGHAN, NICHOLAS PARSONS, THE BEVERLEY SISTERS, ROY
HUDD and WARREN MITCHELL, to name but a few!

One sometimes wonders who will follow in the
footsteps of these great stars? With the
entertainment business changing so rapidly, and
Reality TV becoming so popular, it seems that the
era of the 'Professional' entertainer is sadly
slowing down. These days it's TV 'Wannabees' who are
hitting the headlines, and Karaoke Bars pulling in
the crowds....giving the 'man in the street' the
chance to shine! Still, all we can do is "take the
bull by the horns".......it's onwards.....and
upwards. After all, there's no business like
showbusiness!!
